Obituary of Retired Major General Fadi Abou Chakra

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation mourns retired Major General Fadi Abou Chakra (650006), who passed away on September 1, 2026. The following is a brief account of his life:

• Born on November 1, 1943, in Ammatour – Chouf.
• Enlisted in the Army on October 1, 1962, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on September 3, 1965. He subsequently rose through the ranks until attaining the rank of Major General, effective July 1, 2000.
• Awarded several decorations, including the War Medal, the National Order of the Cedar – Commander Grade, the Lebanese Order of Merit – First Grade, and the National Order of the Cedar – Grand Officer Grade. He also received commendations and congratulations from the Army Commander –in – chief on several occasions.
• Completed several training courses and missions in Lebanon and abroad.
• Married and had two sons.
