القوّة البحريّة

تحظى القوّة البحريّة العسكريّة بحيّزٍ واسعٍ من اهتمامِ الدول، وهي كانت تُمثّل في السابق رمزًا من رموز التمدُّد الأمبراطوريّ والسيطرة على طرق الملاحة والتجارة وتوسيع بقعة انتشار الجيش، إلى جانب حماية المياه الإقليميّة وما تحويه من موارد نفطيّة وغازيّة وثروات طبيعيّة أخرى. وعلى الرغم من زوال الأمبراطوريّات بمعناها التاريخي، وتبدُّل الكثير من المفاهيم العسكريّة بفعل التقدُّم التكنولوجيّ وتغيُّر العديد من أُسس العلاقات بين الدول منذُ نهاية الحرب العالميّة الثانية حتى اليوم، تبقى للبحار أهميّتها الاستراتيجيّة التي تدور حولها سياسات البلدان وعقائد الجيوش، وتُخاض بشأنها المفاوضات وتُحضَّر خُطط التسليح والتجهيز. فلا يُمكن لبلدٍ ما أنْ يضبطَ حدودَه ويحفظ أمنه واستقراره ويستغلّ ثرواته كاملةً إلّا إذا طوّر قدراته البريّة والبحريّة بالتوازي.

أمّا في لبنان، فيكتسبُ هذا المبدأ معنًى خاصًّا لعدّة أسبابٍ أبرزُها طول الخطّ الساحليّ بالنسبة إلى مساحة البلد، وحجم الثروات الطبيعيّة التي تكتنزُها مياهُنا الإقليميّة، وخطر العدو الإسرائيليّ وأطماعه التاريخيّة في أرضنا ومياهنا وخروقاته المتواصلة للسيادة اللبنانيّة برًا وبحرًا وجوًّا، والتهديد المستمرّ للاقتصاد والاستقرار الداخليّ بفعل محاولات التسلُّل والتهريب عبر البحر.

لكلّ ما سبق، تُوْلي قيادة الجيش عنايةً قصوى لضبط الحدود البحريّة والتصدي للأطماع الإسرائيليّة بحرًا بما  تيسّر من إمكانات، ووفق ما تُمليه المصلحة الوطنيّة والقوانين الدوليّة، وهي تعمل دائمًا على استقدام أحدث العتاد البحريّ من زوارق وأسلحة فضلًا عن التدريب الاحترافيّ للضباط والعسكريّين في القوّات البحريّة. ولا شكّ في أنّ المفاوضات التقنيّة غير المباشرة لترسيم الحدود البحريّة تصبُّ في جزء كبير منها في هذا الاتّجاه، بحيث تُبقي حقوق لبنان على رأس الأولويّات، ولا تدع مجالًا للتراجع عن أيّ مقدار منها.

إنّه الواجب العسكريّ بوجهٍ آخر يتولّاه الجيش بتصميم وثبات، من دون أن يقف عند حدود الإمكانات الحاليّة، متطلّعًا إلى مستقبلٍ يستفيد فيه أبناؤنا من خيرات أرضهم ويحقّقون آمالهم وينعمون بالطمأنينة والسلام.

Navy Forces

The military navy force is a subject of great attention in world countries. It previously represented a symbol of imperial expansion and control over navigation routes and the expansion of the army deployment zone. It was also a symbol for protection of regional waters as well as the oil, gas and other natural resources they contain.

Despite the fact that empires in their historical sense have faded away, and that several military concepts have changed due to technological progress and the alteration of many principals within the relations between countries since the beginning of World War II up until nowadays, seas still hold their strategic importance, around which the policies of countries and doctrines of armies revolve. They hold an importance due to which negotiations are made and equipment plans are prepared, for it is not possible for a country to control its borders and preserve its security and stability as well as fully benefit from its resources unless it developed its capability on land and at sea in parallel.

As for Lebanon, this principle acquires a special meaning for several reasons, the most prominent of which is the length of the coastline in relation to the area of the country, the size of the natural resources that our territorial waters hold, the danger of the Israeli enemy and its historical greed in our land and waters and its continuous violations of Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air, and the constant threat to the economy and internal stability due to infiltration and smuggling attempts by sea.

For those reasons, LAF pays utmost attention to controlling maritime borders and confronting Israeli greed by sea with the available capabilities, and in accordance with the national interest and international laws. The LAF always aims to bring in the latest naval equipment such as boats and weapons, as well as professional training for officers and soldiers in the navy forces. There is no doubt that the indirect technical negotiations to demarcate the maritime borders are largely part of this same goal, so as to keep Lebanon's rights a top priority without conceding any part of it.

It is another side of the military duty, which the army undertakes with determination and steadfastness, without stopping at the limits of current capabilities, looking forward to a future in which our sons benefit from the goods of their land, realize their hopes, and enjoy tranquility and peace.
