Visitors of the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief

The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received in his office in Yarzeh the UK Senior Defence Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa, Edward Ahlgren, in the presence of the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell. Discussions focused on the general situation and developments in Lebanon during the sensitive phase the country and the region are going through.

He also received the Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, Frank Mollen, accompanied by the Dutch military attaché, Vincent Van Ophem. During the meeting, Ambassador Mollen expressed his country’s support for the army’s efforts and its role during the current exceptional period. In addition, he met with MP Melhem Riachi, where they reviewed the general situation in the country and the latest developments.

General Haykal also received the head of the Association of Retired Lebanese Armed Forces Personnel, retired Brigadier General Chamel Roukoz, and discussed matters concerning retired military personnel. Furthermore, he met with the president of the NGO “Nawraj,” Dr. Fouad Abou Nader, along with a delegation of mayors from southern border villages. Discussions addressed the conditions of southern villages and towns amid the current difficulties.
